Temporary Bonding Application (Appliqués)

Applying is child's play with SULKY KK FILM: the double-sided self-adhesive film fixes the fabric to be applied without ironing or spraying.
Coat the application fabric with the FILM, cut out the desired shape, stick it onto the base fabric, embroider - done!


KK FILM_Anwendung



A good alternative to spray adhesive and all projects where a short-term connection/fixation is required.
Sew effortlessly through the fixed (fabric) layers without gumming up the needle or shifting, frayed fabric edges.
The self-adhesive film is also heat-activated - simply transfer the film to the appliqué fabric and activate it with an iron or ironing press.
This increases the adhesive strength and effect of SULKY KK FILM.


Suitable for:

  • temporary fixation when embroidering/sewing/quilting.
    eliminates the need for unhandy pinning/tacking when sewing/embroidering
  • positioning of appliqués (forms are cut out upfront)
  • ITH (In-The-Hoop) applications
  • an alternative to adhesive spray

Material Composition: 
Double-sided, self-adhesive film, additionally heat activatable 100% polyacrylat
Adhesive: water-based polyacylate. Solvent-free, ageing-resistant and permanently elastic

SULKY KK FILM - double sided self adhesive film


Application:
  1. Stick SULKY KK FILM to the reverse side of the appliqué and press firmly (calender, Welger wood).
  2. Cut out the appliqué, by hand, laser or cutting plotter.
  3. Remove backing paper. 4. Place the appliqué with the adhesive side on the the base fabric or foil ULTRA SOLVY.
  4. Finish embroidering the appliqué with satin stitch edge.

KK FILM_Anwendung



Application for thermal fixation: 
  1. Glue SULKY KK FILM to the back of the appliqué fabric. Press the fabric with the ironing press or iron the fabric.
    - Temperature: 100 - 120 degrees Celsius
    - Pressure: 4 bar
    - Duration: 5- 10 s 
  2. Cut out the appliqué, by hand, laser or cutting plotter. 
  3. Remove backing paper. 
  4. Fix the appliqué with the adhesive side to the the base fabric or foil ULTRA SOLVY. 
  5. Finish embroidering the appliqué with satin stitch edge.
